For more than seventy years, Portland-based Small Parts Vietnam Company (SPM) has been providing
made-to-order manufacturing services to product designers, developers, and engineers in a wide array of industries.
CNC Turning & Milling
We utilize Fanuc and Mazak milling equipment to provide our clients with 3- and 4 ½-axis precision vertical milling services on parts from ⅛” up to 4′ in length up to approximately 100 lbs. We have full 4th-axis capability, including trunnions and quick-change Chick vises on our Mazak milling machines.
We also offer precision Mazak turning services on parts measuring up to 8″ in diameter and 60 lbs. Our new 200-MSY multi-tasking machine with live tooling and a sub-spindle for done-in-one manufacturing capability helps us eliminate costly secondary operations.
Thanks to the fifteen-year average experience in our CNC milling and turning department, we can offer a quick turnaround on smaller production runs (in fact, we regularly provide customers with complete parts in less than two weeks).
Screw Machining
We offer Wickman production screw machining on parts up to 3 ¼” diameter for those requiring higher-volume precision parts production runs (from 1500 pcs to 100k+ pcs). This cost-effective machining alternative delivers outstanding efficiency at competitive prices, with multi-spindle equipment holding tolerances of +/-.002″ on most features.
Setup times range from 8-24 hours depending on part complexity.
Because of the highly-skilled and trained technicians in our Wickman screw machine department, we can offer clients high-quality bushings, adapters, pins, spacers, handles, bolts, studs, precision screws, etc., at competitive price points.
Wire EDM
We offer Wire EDM and Proto Trak machining solutions for clients with unique situations. From simple key-way machining on pulley repair projects to precise square EDM machining of titanium blanks, we offer our clients a wide range of machining solutions. These solutions provide an opportunity to build customer confidence and develop initial relationships.
We utilize a Mitsubishi FX10 Wire EDM to manufacture tooling for our screw machine department primarily. We also provide support services for making ferrous parts and tooling up to 10″ x 10″ x 6″ thick and up to 25 lbs. This high-precision machining alternative allows for minimal surface/edge distortion and extreme accuracy on intricate parts and tooling features. We can consistently hold tolerances of .0005″ or less with this process (Note: this process requires us to start with ferrous materials due to the nature of Electro Discharge Machining).

OD Thread Rolling Services — In House
We offer Kinefac thread rolling services on outside diameters for high-volume OD thread production requirements.
With this process, we can manufacture ⅞” to 1¾” rolled threads at rates above 250+ pcs/hour.
